Custom Composite Example: Sculptor John Waddell

This is an example of custom composite I created for sculptor John Waddell. Photography was done by Michael Thompson. Michael had to shoot the original components, without special lighting, at the sculptor's studio. Click on the image to the left to see the final composite. The finished product is 41" x 23" @240dpi.
The images above are the actual photos I worked from. Everything had to be cut carefully out in Photoshop, cleaned up and pieced together. If you have a challenging photo-composite you need for a poster, sales presentation or ad campaign - I am up for it!

What was done: Sometimes you have a situation after a photo shoot where the lighting of one of the shots is 'just great' but the background sucks and cannot be salvaged in Photoshop . . .that was the situation here. I had to carefully lift out jewelry from one shot and combine it with the customer specified background of another image. Later, imperfections in the stones and highlights in the metal where minutely corrected.

I have been an avid photo buff since childhood and have been doing digital photography for websites and advertising since the early 1990's. (when the first 'pricey' consumer digital camera hit the market.)

Specialties include: small product photography, jewelry and gemstone photography.

I also shoot flat art and paintings for presentation via the internet, printed material or CD/DVD.
